Argentine rocking at the rythm of Chamamé
There are so many ways people celebrate special days. Argentine people, for example, are known as partiers because they do not turn down any possibility to enjoy and have fun while celebrating. Besides, they look for the most unreasonable things to make a "celebration" about it. As an illustration, you will hear about the "asado", "potato", "sheep" or even a "camping" festival. The main goal of this essay is to compare two popular festivals from Argentina: Cosquin rock and Festival del Chamamé highlighting the similarities and differences of them so tourists can learn a bit more about its culture.
To begin, it is important to mention some similarities of the two festivals. First of all, these are musical festivals; so be prepared to have a wonderful experience while listening to authentic Argentine music genres. Moreover, in every festival one can find different concerts and shows whithin the music genre with thousand of fans and performers enjoying the live performances. In the same way, it is relevant to note that these fests generally last three days in an amazing atmosphere surrounded by good times, laughter, family and friends. Therefore, locals will see many vendors who sell a variety of things. For instance, the festival spectators can purchase any type of traditional food like empanadas, choripan, hamburguers or chips, as well as beverages such as wine, beer, and soda. And of course, the typical merchandise which includes products like T-shirts, sourvenirs, hats, pictures, etc.
Since some similarties have been introduced, now it is time to talk a little bit about the differences. Despite the fact that these are musical festivities, tourists will be amazed to see the remarkable differences.
Firstly, it is necessary to explain that the music genres involved are "rock nacional" and "chamamé" which are the most famous in the country because they reflect its roots and tradition with a mix of sounds that can tell anyone about the culture of Argentina. In addition, it is obvious that the audience would be really different from one to another including adults and young people. But differenciating the ones who love to preserve the customs and the origins of the country to the others who like to be hardcore rockers. Likewise, the places where these fests are held are completely unique. The Festival del Chamamé takes place in Corrientes, a northeastern province, while Cosquin rock happens in the middle of Argentina, in a province called Córdoba. Lastly, the way people "dance" is outstanding because it is common to see people dancing at the rythm of the national folcklore whilst in Cosquin, fans make the famous "pogo" which consists of an enormous round full of thousands of rockers jumping, yelling and moving from one side to another.
In the long run, it is important to emphasize how good Argentines are at partying. Tourists can find in this amazing country not only celebrations, but also a bunch of elements that make this nation a holiday destination. A wide variety of music genres and dancing styles are waiting to be experienced as well as gorgeous regions wanting to show off their natural beauty and festivities. No matter what the celebration is about, if it is in Argentina, people will not regret taking part in it.
It is awesome!!! I loved it. Great C/C essay, Cosquin rock reminded me of my youth. The pogo is only performed here in Argentina and it is the best part.

ResponderEliminarI want to say I like reading this interesting Article and also "Two worlds in one country" by Yamila Vera.
Firstly, both of you emphasized in our National festivals encouraging future tourists to take part in any of these special festivities. It´s amazing the way both of you shared and described our events as Argentineans.
Secondly, both of you have done a very good job organizing the ideas expressed in the thesis statement in well-balanced supporting paragraphs. This makes the reader not to be lost and of course not to get bored. That is great!!
There are no negative aspects to mark. You applied transitional words and many synonyms correctly.
